We are confident that Legacy Royalty offers the quickest turnaround of any mineral acquisition company. Whereas other companies pay you with a time draft instrument rather than cash, we will ALWAYS offer to pay via check or wire transfer at closing. If another company offers to purchase your interest by delivering a draft at closing, BEWARE that this is a trick. Companies who purchase via time draft instruments put YOU under legal obligation to sell your interest, whereas they put themselves under no such obligation to purchase your interest. Legacy Royalty’s standard agreement provides assurance that we will proceed to close the transaction, and you will not find us suddenly backing out without cause. Ask around and you will find our reputation to be head and shoulders above the rest.
The valuation of oil and gas minerals is a highly subjective process. Estimates of factors such as oil and gas commodity pricing, local geology, and potential for development all affect the estimated value of mineral interests. In the most basic sense, minerals are worth what a buyer is willing to pay for them at a given time, and Legacy Royalty, LLC strives to give fair market valuations of all prospective mineral purchases.
Legacy Royalty, LLC frequently purchases partial mineral interests. We understand sellers may wish to retain a portion of their mineral rights, and we are willing to purchase fractional interests in mineral rights.
Leased mineral interests, whether producing or non-producing, may be sold at any time. Legacy Royalty, LLC purchases both leased and unleased mineral interests.
Generally, the sale of oil and gas mineral interests will be treated as a long-term capital gain. The long-term capital gain tax rate is substantially less than the ordinary income tax rate. We encourage you to visit with your accountant regarding any detailed tax questions.
Once we receive notice that you are interested in selling mineral interests and both parties have agreed to terms, we will forward a Contract for Sale of Minerals for execution. After receiving the signed contract, we undertake a title examination at our expense to confirm ownership of the minerals. Upon confirmation of ownership, a Mineral Deed will be sent for your execution and return. Once we receive the signed deed, we close the deal and work to promptly mail you a check, at which point the sale process is complete. We strive to complete this process in two to three weeks, though more time may be required depending upon title complexity.
There is no cost to the owner who wishes to sell oil and gas mineral rights.
Legacy Royalty offers a variety of land services to mineral owners across Oklahoma. We perform contract work such as title research and curative, and we are also happy to represent mineral owners in negotiations with the land and division order departments of oil and gas operators. Please contact us with any issues regarding your mineral estate and we would be happy to discuss your options.

My interactions with and inquiries to Legacy Royalty, LLC have always been handled with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, and promptness. I've had dealings with them over several years and they have always been honest with me and easy to work with, without exception.
My association with Legacy Royalty was handled professionally and I was pleased to deal with very friendly and trustworthy people.
I recently had an oportunity to do business with your firm, and I wanted to express my gratitude for the way our business was transacted. Our situation is a little different than most you handle, in that i currently live in tennessee, and you are located in oklahoma. In spite of the separation in distance, our business was transacted with speed and accuracy. In my case, doing business with you has turned out to be a win, win situation for me. Earlier this year, I had leased the mineral interests I owned in the section of land you were interested in to another company. They said they wanted to lease “all” my mineral interests in the section you were intersted in. When we finalized the agreement, they leased 25+ acres. when your land man, Amber Halley, asked why they had only leased 25+ acres in that section, I told her that I didn’t really know. I had assumed that 25 acres was all i owned in that section. She indicated that I owned more than that, and should contact the leasing company to find out why they had only leased the 25+ acres. I did as she suggested, and when they investigated further, they found that I did indeed own more than the 25+ acres they had leased. They have since leased the rest of the available acerage from me. so, as you can see, thanks to your landman, it has been a win, win situation for me.
At the time of this sale, I needed some cash to send to my grandson in Japan. Your people there did everything possible to speed the matter up, and as a result of their haste, I was able to get some cash to Julian even sooner than I thought possible. So, thanks again.

In these days of economic turmoil and questionable business dealings, it was refreshing to become reacquainted with Mike Weeks in January 2008. I say reacquainted because over the past twenty years or so, our family had done many oil and gas leases with Mike. Unlike many in an industry filled with "get rich quick" artists, Mike always did what he said he would do.

In December 2007, our family decided we wanted to sell our mineral rights in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. One of the first persons we called was Mike Weeks at Legacy Royalty. Mike made us an offer immediately and told us precisely how he would complete the deal. We shopped around and found that Mike was the highest bidder, but as importantly, we knew him to be a man of his word. Our multimillion dollar deal, completed in February 2008, was handled by telephone, e-mail and wire transfers. As usual, Mike did what he said he would do at each step of the transaction. We would highly recommend Mike and his Legacy Royalty team to anyone. His word means something!

Legacy Royalty, LLC contacted me with an offer to purchase the mineral rights on my land in Oklahoma. At first, I hesitated. Once I spoke with Mike Weeks and the people in their office, I saw how professional and tactful they were in their business practices. They were always helpful and answered all my questions. They went above and beyond to meet my needs… not theirs. With the nation’s economy upside down, Legacy Royalty showed me they are ready to ignore that, serve their customers and deliver! I would not hesitate to do business with them for one second! They were quick! They were precise! They were honest! We need more companies like this in Oklahoma and in America. To me, they represent what we need to get our feet back on the ground and get moving in the right direction.
